Introduction

SpiritWood Corporation is an international company incorporated and headquartered in Santiago City, situated in the Isabela province on the northeast of Luzon Island in the Philippines. The corporation was formed in the spring of 1997, and since that time has established several tree plantations in Isabela and the adjacent Quirino province, in conjunction with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (D.E.N.R.) In eleven years, our operations have extended to cover an area in excess of 820 hectares, (+/- 2,000 acres) which contain in excess of 1.6 million planted trees.

At these plantations, the company grows a semi-hardwood species of tree called Gmelina Arborea, which is more commonly referred to as "Melina". (pronounced Ma-lee-na) While the Melina is indigenous to Asia, it is grown and harvested throughout the tropical belt of the globe. After a relatively short growing period of six to seven years, the harvested wood can be pulped for paper, chipped for chipboard and cement board, carbonized into charcoal or simply cut into lumber and used in the construction and furniture industries.

Worldwide consumption of trees has tripled over the last 20 years and lumber prices have escalated by even more. The tropical rain forest continues to disappear forever at an alarming rate exceeding 25 million hectares per year. Spiritwood Corporation can not reverse the loss of rain forest, but by always planting more trees than we harvest, we can generate prosperity while positively contributing to the environment.

Our vision is to plant, nurture and harvest trees for profit, while preserving and conserving our land and existing wildlife habitat. We will always plant more trees than we harvest. We will strive for excellence and openness in all of our business activities, for the benefit of our company, our employees and our investors, and pledge to help the local communities where our farms are located.

Spiritwood Corporation was formed, and is owned by Butch Marzan and Ken Eicher who conceived the idea and personally financed the initial operations of the company. To enhance the funding and thereby accelerate the development of the farms, a limited number of investment units are offered.  If you would like to join us in this unique and exciting opportunity, or to find out more about Spiritwood Corporation - write to Ken Eicher at spiritwood_corp@hotmail.com. Together, we can "Grow Tomorrow's Future ... Today"
