History - Update

January 2001

This is a brief summary of the significant progress made by our field personnel, and also a real indicator of the strong support and trust that our investors have given us.

This is no little matter, considering the higher degree of risk that was involved in making the investment decision 4 years ago, 2 years ago, and the decision you will make now. As time and the planting seasons progress, I am continually inspired by the countless hours and days of hard work that Butch and our people put in for the benefit of all. I am so proud of their accomplishments.

I am also reminded of the fact that our little "pipe dream" of having a pension fund source of income is constantly transforming into what will soon become a major Corporation, with over 1 million trees planted before the first one is harvested.

My personal goal of being responsible for raising the money to plant a million trees should become a reality in the fall of 2002 or 2003. We have also lost some battles, as some of you will remember the sad medical case of Sherril Mina. At least we tried.

I believe the numbers on the following page reflect the successful growth of our small ideas, as they have been nurtured and given professional supervision, to the stage that we are at now. They really do speak for themselves.

I have also enclosed a copy of the letter from The Regional Executive Director of the DENR, in which he commits up to 20,000 hectares of land for our future expansion plans. Although Director Ceraspi has now retired, his successor shares the same commitment to our mission of developing profitable sustainable tree plantations.

The local and federal government officials also strongly support our policies of:

  1. treating the people fairly,
  2. supporting our personnel with the correct equipment and training,
  3. developing the lands in a responsible eco-friendly manner,
  4. planting 2 new seedlings for every tree we harvest in the years to come.

Secretary Cerilles (the Minister of Forestry equivalent) has now been to the plantations 3 times, and is more impressed with each visit.

The organisational diagram that I enclosed 2 years ago would now have 40 full-time and 15 part-time workers with 4 Farm Managers, and 1 Area Manager to oversee operations in the Quirino Province area.

I hope that this update inspires you to either start or continue to invest in this very exciting project, and I look forward to answering your questions and receiving your investor questionnaires. Thank you again for your continued trust and confidence.
